FUTA staff stabbed to death in beer parlour


A staff of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Udoh Johnson has been killed following a disagreement that ensued between him and a customer at a drinking joint on Adinlewa street, Akure, Ondo State.

Incidentally, the deceased was to move to his newly built house at Aule, a suburb of the state capital before the unfortunate incident.

According to DailyPost investigation, Udoh met his death when he went to charge his mobile phone at a drinking joint around his residence.

A source said that at about 11.30pm, one of the customers who had come to the joint to drink claimed Udoh stepped on his foot. The accusation later led to an argument between Udoh and the customer, identified as Wale, who unplugged the phone and its charger and threw into the street.

DailyPost gathered that this act infuriated Udohan leading to a physical brawl, and consequent upon which, Wale stabbed Udoh with a broken bottle on his left.

Udoh who was abandoned in the pool his own blood, bled to death as nobody was on ground to take him to the hospital, as the culprit had earlier escaped from the scene.

Spokesperson to the Ondo State Police Command, Wole Ogodo , who confirmed the report, said the corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy.

He said that one of the prime suspects is still on the run, while the case is already at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for thorough investigations, while the police are still making effort to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
