7 reasons to STOP your online relationship NOW

A common symptom of an impending break-up is when one thinks there isn’t a problem; and the other differs. If you have frankly brought up issues to your partner and if he/she isn’t really addressing it as a problem, they are either oblivious to it, or they just don’t care.

1. Online Frequency: Does he/she care about spending time with you online like they once did? Or do they ignore you and hardly pay heed to you even when you’ve logged on? If your partner hardly gets online to ping you or chat with you or even does not email on a regular basis like he/she once did, he/she certainly is giving you the boot.

2. You initiating conversations: Check the pattern — does it actually take a number of emails/pings for the other person to respond to you and then behave busy? Well, if you’re the one who is initiating all the communication but hardly gets a response, get the point that the other person is not interested.

3. Nothing in common: If the conversations have now become stale and if there is nothing that seems exciting between the two of you, it is time you both mutually ended it. Also, were there common online interests that you shared (playing games/solving puzzles), which neither of you are keen on now? If so, you know where you’re heading.

4. Breaking the routine: Figure out if you both had a set time-slot when you’d sit chatting, and if now, he/she is disappearing at those times. If your partner is absent during your regular chat sessions and doesn’t give you prior notice despite knowing you’d be waiting for them, or they casually tell you it is not important to give you an explanation, end the relationship right away.

5. It’s-okay attitude: A common symptom of an impending break-up is when one thinks there isn’t a problem; and the other differs. If you have frankly brought up issues to your partner and if he/she isn’t really addressing it as a problem, they are either oblivious to it, or they just don’t care. Both ways seem to be taking the relationship to a dead end.

6. On a lookout: You might have been extremely active on his/her social networking page when dating, so check out if someone has replaced you. Chances are that your partner is bored of what the two of you shared and is on another ‘online fling’ hunt. And if that is the case, the social networking profile will give you the cue.

7. No trust no more: Trust is the basis of any relationship. If your partner starts misunderstanding you, suspecting you and lashing out at you, beware. If he/she is not willing to give you a chance to explain yourself or even goes to the extent of hacking your online account, it’s a sure shot sign that you should get out of it.
