Sometimes
watching an older woman taking charge of her life is an eye-opener for
men. Possibly that is the reason why the guy you are dating adores and
respects you.

1. Younger men can be a lot more fun.
Dating itself is sheer fun considering the mystery that comes along with it. But with age, most men tend to get tied up with their professional lives leaving little or no scope of fun. This isn’t usually the case with the younger lot who have a totally fresh, experimental approach to life. If not anything, you are in for a rollercoaster ride for sure!. Nairita Mukherjee, who is in a steady relationship with a guy about two years younger than her, says that age is the last thing on her mind. “After all, you still fight for the remote control, and then make upwith a smile! Since we’ve dated for around eight years now, I guess it was easier to mould ourselves in a way that suits ‘us’ best,” she quips.
2. Differences are inevitable.
If you are dating a bloke several years younger, there are bound to be differences. Arguing over the kind of music you both enjoy is one thing, but what happens when bigger differences take over your relationship? Most of the time, it may mean compromising and thus inviting trouble for yourself. Nairita says, “There’s no formula or user manual for dating younger men, because you wouldn’t treat them like babies, now would you?” Malti says, “If you are compatible and can laugh away together during such situations, then nothing like it. The most important thing is to enjoy each other’s company!”
3. You will feel younger.
A younger man may be from a different generation altogether. So while you may want to sit at a park and enjoy the evening, he on the other hand might insist on going clubbing. Looking at the world through his eyes is not a bad thing after all. “Dating a younger guy can be exciting and seem like a challenge initially. The best part is that it makes you feel younger,” says Aditi Samantray, who dated a guy a few years younger than her.
4. He might still be a child.
“Don’t let the child in you die” – you must have heard this a hundred times, isn’t it? If you are dating a younger guy, there is a high probability that he may not have grown up at all. The problem arises when you expect him to behave and act like a mature person, and he fails to do so. Aditi says, “I was fine with dating a younger guy, until I realised he was a kid. He’d end up being so emotional after every fight that it would get really irritating.”
5. He respects you for being the woman you are.
Sometimes watching an older woman taking charge of her life is an eye-opener for men. Possibly that is the reason why the guy you are dating adores and respects you. The fact that you are older and come with much experience makes him look up to you.
6. He may not understand responsibility.
A younger guy is less likely to discuss the future (read: marriage and settling down) with you probably because he is not ready yet! And being an independent woman who believes in taking charge of your life, dating a man with zero sense of responsibility may cause an issue. If he cannot handle his responsibilities, he wouldn’t understand their importance either.
7. Living in the moment is sometimes good.
You have often asked yourself to take life as it comes, haven’t you? Dating a younger guy is an indication that you wish to enjoy your present, rather than think about the future. Revelling in the present with him will make you realise how fun life is, and what it means to live in the moment!
8. Uncertainty is not a good thing.
While you are celebrating the present, you are most likely to ignore what life has in store for you. Your future is an inevitable truth, which you cannot brush off easily. In such a scenario, it may mean living in uncertainty which your guy may enjoy, but you definitely won’t, in the long run.
