Good news for Imo students: ASUU chapter has decided to call of strike

Despite resistance from some parties on the move to call off the ongoing Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), some branches of the academic body clearly believe the battle has been won.

The Imo State University (IMSU) chapter of ASUU is of the opinion that the 4 month old strike should be called off and it’s representatives have voted as such.

The members of the IMSU branch reached the decision at a congress on Monday.

NewsRealTime reports:
According to the former Chairman of the union in the university, Mr. Vitalis Nwulu, the decision was based on the fact that President Goodluck Jonathan had personally stepped into the matter.
He said the decision was that of the branch as the final decision would be taken by the national body after collating all the agreements from the various universities on Wednesday.

We will continue to monitor developments.
