ASUU Intervention: Fagge pleased with outcome of meeting with Senate President

The Academic Staff Union of Universities met with Senate President David Mark earlier today before their ongoing meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan.

Speaking with journalists after the meeting at Mark’s National Assembly office, the ASUU President, Nasir Fagge described the intervention meeting as a welcome development, however he declined to comment whether the strike would be called off.

Fagge said, “We have used the opportunity of our meeting to inform him what the problem is to enable him take appropriate step in the matter.

“We robbed minds and we keep saying that every intervention to get this problem resolved and allow us to go back to our classes and teach the students will be acceptable to the union.

“So the intervention by the Senate President is a welcome development but we will await the outcome of the intervention.”
