Couple wake up to find NAKED stranger in their hotel bed

The MacDonald hotel in Manchester
A couple have spoken of their shock after they woke to find a stranger, naked, in their hotel bed.

Businesswoman Sue Hackney was asleep in a Manchester hotel room with her partner Tim Wilson on Monday night when she woke to find a naked man climbing under the the sheets with them.

She told the Manchester Evening News how she shouted to wake her other half, who jumped up and switched on a bedside lamp, before yelling at the intruder: “What are you doing? Get out of my bed before I kill you.”

The naked man then got out of the couple’s bed and walked out of their four-star, £140-a-night room at the MacDonald Hotel in Picadilly, Manchester.

They rang reception and called the police, but officers decided to take no further action.

Retired teacher Tim, 61, said he and his partner had not been able to sleep since the late-night intrusion.

“I’m a deep sleeper,” he said. “He could have killed us. You don’t know what someone like that is going to do.

“He wasn’t drunk. To me he looked like he was sleepwalking. He just walked out and disappeared.”

“How did he get into the bedroom and how did he get back into his own room?”

He added that he and Sue, 54, were both “furious” that they had never received an explanation from the hotel, and would now be taking legal advice.

Hotel general manager Paul Bayliss said: “The hotel was made aware of an alleged incident in a guest’s room in the early hours of Monday morning.

“The police were notified and took no further action.

“Checks by the hotel on the ‘lock read’ on the guests’ door also confirmed it was in full working order.”
