“This is my last Christmas at Milan” – Allegri hints at leaving Rossoneri next summer

Allegri
AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri, has given a clear hint that he will leave the San Siro next year, after admitting that 2013 will be his “last Christmas” at the club. Allegri took charge of the Rossoneri in 2010 and clinched the Serie A title in his first season, but since then the Italian club’s fortunes have changed dramatically.
This season, Milan is already 17 points behind leaders Juventus and might not qualify for any European competition next year.
“I do not know who will be the new coach, but it is a problem that does not concern me. Of course, this is my last Christmas at AC Milan,” the Italian said when quizzed over the possiblity of former Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf replacing him.
“I decided to stay on for another season. I liked the idea of staying on and finishing the job, but four years with one club is many.”
The 46-year-old coach, however refused to throw in the towel on securing European football via the Italian Cup.
“It’s very difficult. We are 17 points behind third place,” he added.
“But we have to chase and improve our position in the table. All this can serve well as an incentive to do well. There is still the Italian Cup, which is still gives us a good possibility to remain in Europe.”

6 Ways to Reduce the Risk of Diabetes

6 Ways to Reduce the Risk of Diabetes
Diabetes is fast becoming the killer disease that is making a lot more people sick and shooting up health care costs. An alarming percentage of the population has been affected with diabetes and the numbers are only growing. Not only do people with a family history of diabetes are susceptible to it, but also young kids and others because of the lifestyle changes and the genetically modified and processed foods. Even if there is a history of diabetes in the family, you can do a lot of things to reduce your risk of getting it or at least postpone it for a long time. Here are the things you can do and the changes you can make in your lifestyle to reduce the risk of diabetes.
1. Exercise regularly
You do not have to exercise a lot and stress yourself out every single day, but can start and follow a mild exercise regimen. The important part is that you do it on a regular basis. Exercise every day or every alternate day for at least an hour and this could be a game changer in reducing your diabetes risk.

2. Eat healthy
Stay away from processed food, genetically modified food items and sugar. When the diet you have is as close to nature as possible, the chances of you getting diabetes is also reduced. Also do not go on yo-yo diets. Radical weight loss and gain can also trigger the onset of early diabetes.

3. Do not smoke
If you are already a smoker, try to cut down on the number of cigarettes or try and quit smoking altogether as smoking can also cause diabetes apart from many other diseases.

4. Cut down on those drinks

If you are someone who drinks more than once in a week, bring down the drinks to once in a month or twice in a month. And even when you are drinking make sure you stick to two drinks at the most.

5. Drop those extra pounds you are carrying

Try to exercise and reduce the extra pounds you are carrying especially around your stomach. Stomach fat is also a cause for diabetes as it brings down the production of insulin in the body.

6. Add fiber and whole grains to your diet

Fibers and whole grains do not carry a lot of calories and also take a longer time to digest. They also make you feel full. Thus your craving for food and to eat more in shorter periods of time becomes less.
Little changes in your diet and lifestyle can go a long way in bringing down the risk of diabetes. You do not have to let go of eating everything, but you can eat in minimal quantities and increase the number of times that you eat. Cutting down on snacking and junk food will also help you ward off diabetes at least by a few years. Prevention is always better than cure, make these small changes now to stay diabetes free and healthy.

‘I Love You’: 15 Ways Guys Say It Without Saying It

‘I Love You’: 15 Ways Guys Say It Without Saying It
The silent ways he’s showing you he cares.
Has your guy been fairly silent in the 4-letter-word department, and you’re trying to figure out other ways to tell if he loves you? Sometimes, this can be hard; not everybody is vocal or obvious about their feelings, and many may feel it is difficult to voice those deeper emotions whether it’s for fear of rejection, commitment or simply never having said “I Love You” before.
Here are some subtle, silent ways to tell if he’s thinking it.
1. Passionate, Long-Lasting Kisses
Who doesn’t love an excellent, lengthy kiss? When he’s continuously initiating these and you can feel the passion each time he does, it is clear that he’s more than just a little excited to be around you.
2. His Friends Love You
If all his buddies are starting to warm up to you and truly seem to enjoy your company, it could be because they know how happy you’re making their friend — thus making them start to find you as awesome as he does.
3. Close Personal Distance
You know how it’s unnerving when somebody you’re not interested in gets close to you? It’s the complete opposite when someone you adore tends to be closer in distance than he is to other people.
4. Smiling After Kissing
Sure, you can have a little sweet smile after kissing someone whose company you enjoy, but do you ever just feel like positively beaming when it’s someone you love? If you catch him grinning after your kisses all the time, it’s a great sign that he truly enjoys your company.
5. He Listens Intently
While he might not be saying much when it comes to your relationship and his feelings about it, the fact that he listens closely when you’re talking is incredibly significant. He may lean in closer when you’re discussing important topics or nod when you say something poignant, showing how much your words mean to him.
6. Upright Posture
Most of us tend to slouch and have poorer posture than we should. However, if you’re trying to impress the person you care about most and want him or her to be most attracted to you, you’re going to stand or sit straight up.
7. Hand Squeezing
I once had a relationship with a guy who loved holding my hand and would occasionally squeeze it tightly when we were cuddling or out with friends, but hated any other kind of cutesy couple-like act. I always wondered why he was so opposed, but then I realized that every time he squeezed my hand, he was trying to say, “I love you” in a quiet, simple way.
8. Calling (Or Texting) For No Reason
Not all people do this when in love, so don’t take it personally if he doesn’t. That said, it’s a sign that he feels comfortable with you in non-romantic situations as well as the obvious ones, and that he’s thinking of you throughout the day.

8 HOT sex positions for the lazy girl

black-couple happy in bed
A warm water bath is the best way to relax after a tiring day.
1. Side by side: Lie down side by side facing each other and let him ease himself inside you slowly. Move sensually and feel the pressure building. The best part about this sex position is that you can hug and kiss your partner and feel close to him. Bend your knees to increase the penetration and drive him crazy.

2. Lap dance love: Let your man sit on a chair or lean on a couch. Lower yourself on his lap and start the slow foreplay. As he joins you, rest your head on his shoulder and move slowly and sensually. Rock your hips back and forth. The slow and close motion will make it a night to remember.

3. Spoony Style: Lie down on the bed with your back facing your partner and let him spoon you. The close contact will be a turn on already. Let him slide into as he holds you tight. The spoon sex position is not only very sensual, but very intimate as well. Take your hands back and cup his butt and feel the rhythmic movement.

4. Lazy dog: Just because you are feeling lazy, doesn’t mean you have to ditch the doggy style. Instead of lying on your fours, lie down with your stomach touching the bed. Place some pillows under your pelvic region so that your butt juts out and let your man come on top of you as he moves. It’s one of the laziest sex positions that ensures maximum pleasure.

5. The lie & life: Lie down on your back on the bed and just relax. Lift up one leg nearest to him. He enters you from the side straddling your outstretched leg and moves on with rhythmic beats. Let him do all the work while you lie back and enjoy. Being lazy was never this fun, eh! :-P

6. Bathtub sex: A warm water bath is the best way to relax after a tiring day. Add to it slow sensual sex with some scented candles, and heaven isn’t far away. Lie in a bathtub with your legs parted and let him lather you up. With his hands touching you everywhere, the foreplay is going to be great. Lift your legs and place them on either side of the tub as your man joins you. It’s going to be a hell of a bath for sure!

7. The reverse spoon: Lie on your side with your knees bent and folded in towards your chest and let your man lie opposite you with his legs around your head. He will have a direct view of your clit and will know just the spot to touch to give you maximum pleasure.

8. The lazy man: Allow your man to be lazy for once and feel the pleasure. Let him lie on his back on the bed or lean on to a very comfy couch. As he is having a sleep in, you go and sit on him on the bed with your knees bent. You can take turns moving and pleasuring each other. Alternate between hugging and sitting on him during the movement and feel on top of the world.

“Santa Claus deserves to win Ballon d’Or” – Ibrahimovic

IbrahimovicPSG
Paris Saint Germain striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has joked that he wishes Santa Claus can be announced as winner of the Ballon d’Or prize, instead of the three high-profile contenders for the prize.
The Sweden international is not on the final three-man shortlist, which includes Cristiano Ronaldo, Franck Ribery and Lionel Messi.

Speaking to the press in Doha, Ibrahimovic said: “The Ballon d’Or? For me, the three deserve to win it, but the one who must have it is Santa Claus.”

Ibrahimovic will come face to face with Ronaldo again on Thursday, when PSG plays Real Madrid in an exhibition game in Qatar, but stated he wants to end his career in France.

He said: “Yes, it’s an option for me to finish in Paris and we’ll see what happens in the future.

“I’m never fully satisfied. The team progresses, the club has made a leap in a short time, but we must continue to work. We have great qualities and I am optimistic for the future.”

On facing Carlo Ancelotti, who brought him from AC Milan, Ibrahimovic said: “We’ll see Carlo Ancelotti, who was at the initiative of the new Parisian project and he left his mark. He pulled the group and the club up. He is a great coach, and I was happy to work with him at Paris and I wish him the best in Madrid.”

SHOCKING: See hospital ‘mortuary’ where corpses are washed near a FOOD CANTEEN (PHOTO)

According to a Premium Times report, startling revelations have been made concerning the mortuary services of the Ikorodu General Hospital in Lagos.
Investigations said to have been made by the paper resulted in findings that the morticians at the hospital wash corpses “in the open with water fetched in battered old plastic buckets.”
The hospital is said to be currently using an “unrefrigerated shipping container” as a makeshift mortuary while a building constructed for that purpose lies unused because it has not been commissioned.
Premium Times reports:
When PREMIUM TIMES visited the mortuary, many of the bodies which were carelessly kept were already decomposing – fluid from the bodies kept in the upper cabinets was dripping freely on the bodies below.
One bereaved husband, who had to remove the body of his wife due to the shabby way it was handled, described seeing a body so badly decomposed that its head was almost severed from its body.
The general filth and the smell of decaying bodies that pervades the area is a bazaar for swarm of flies. Visitors also fear the mortuary portends a serious health concern to the environment as well as workers, patients and other inhabitants of the area in and around the hospital.
For instance, the hospital’s canteen and catering services department is just few metres from the makeshift mortuary.
“By the time we got there I could see them washing dead bodies in the public just by the side of the container. When the container was opened, what I saw was unbefitting for the body of a dead goat or dog,” said Olu Famuyiwa, a septuagenarian who removed the body of his wife to another mortuary after it was treated shabbily.
“When the mortuary was open, I saw about six or seven bodies already swollen, smelling and water dropping from them. Because of the tip we gave the attendants they cleared the upper shelf for my wife’s body. As we were about to leave, they asked me to buy a white linen cloth the following day to cover her body. I gave them N1000 to buy the cloth, as I wasn’t ready to come all the way from Lagos just for that purpose.
But to my surprise, embarrassment and humiliation, when I returned she was completely naked except for a piece of perforated cloth used to cover her private part. Don’t forget that they collected money from me to buy white cloth,” he continued.
He also complained that his wife wasn’t properly embalmed as her complexion quickly turned unusually dark and had started swelling. He said if he didn’t remove his wife’s body when he did, it would have further decomposed.
The last body – lying on the floor of the container – its head was almost severed from its body due to decomposition. I decided there and then to remove the body of my wife but because it was on a Saturday, we had to wait till Monday to remove her body,” he added.
Standing just outside the canteen, one can clearly see unclad bodies sprawled on the mortuary’s cabinet through its unclosed door. Water used in bathing the bodies is poured on the ground where it can easily flow into shallow wells, which are common in the area.
Ahmed Anuoluwapo, a mortician at a privately run mortuary, Omega Funeral Home, said proper disposal of water and other materials used in bathing the dead is an essential part of a mortician’s job so as not to expose inhabitants of the area around a mortuary to diseases.
“It is important that the bath water is collected and drained properly so it doesn’t find its way to public supply of water,” Mr. Anuoluwapo said. “If the water used in mortuary gets into a stream, for instance, it could lead to serious health implications.”
Bizarrely, while bodies were allowed to rot in the shipping container, a recently constructed mortuary sat about two metres away, unused.
When PREMIUM TIMES visited, some mortuary workers were sleeping on straw mats on its veranda with files of document scattered around them.
According to mortuary attendants, the building would not be used until it was commissioned by the Lagos Commissioner of Health, Olajide Idris.
Several attempts to get the Lagos State health officials to comment for this story was unsuccessful, with officials tossing our reporter around for several weeks.

READ: Did Pope Francis really say hell is not real but ‘merely a metaphor’?

pope
This post (excerpted below) from Diversity Chronicle Blog  from December 5, 2013 has been circulated.
POPE FRANCIS CONDEMNS RACISM AND DECLARES THAT “ALL RELIGIONS ARE TRUE” AT HISTORIC THIRD VATICAN COUNCIL
Through humility, soul searching, and prayerful contemplation we have gained a new understanding of certain dogmas. The church no longer believes in a literal hell where people suffer. This doctrine is incompatible with the infinite love of God. God is not a judge but a friend and a lover of humanity. God seeks not to condemn but only to embrace. Like the fable of Adam and Eve, we see hell as a literary device. Hell is merely a metaphor for the isolated soul, which like all souls ultimately will be united in love with God” Pope Francis declared.
In a speech that shocked many, the Pope claimed “All religions are true, because they are true in the hearts of all those who believe in them. What other kind of truth is there? In the past, the church has been harsh on those it deemed morally wrong or sinful. Today, we no longer judge. Like a loving father, we never condemn our children. Our church is big enough for heterosexuals and homosexuals, for the pro-life and the pro-choice! For conservatives and liberals, even communists are welcome and have joined us. We all love and worship the same God.”
One statement in the Pope’s speech has sent traditionalists into a fit of confusion and hysteria. “God is changing and evolving as we are, For God lives in us and in our hearts. When we spread love and kindness in the world, we touch our own divinity and recognize it. The Bible is a beautiful holy book, but like all great and ancient works, some passages are outdated. Some even call for intolerance or judgement. The time has come to see these verses as later interpolations, contrary to the message of love and truth, which otherwise radiates through scripture. In accordance with our new understanding, we will begin to ordain women as cardinals, bishops and priests. In the future, it is my hope that we will have a woman pope one day. Let no door be closed to women that is open to men!”
Wow, at last, Sanity from the Vatican.
Yes!, Yes! Yes!
Confirmation of what we all that know to be true & the Vatican will lead the way in our Brave New World. How wonderful is that? Finally a religious leader we can actually believe will unite people in a common goal of peace and justice.
(OMG, am I describing a Messiah?)
oh wait
Snopes.com  has a report on it from December 22, 2013.
Shortly afterwards links and excerpts referencing this article were being circulated via social media, with many of those who encountered the item mistaking it for a genuine news item. However, the article was just a spoof: No Third Vatican Council has been convened (the Second Vatican Council took place in the early 1960s), and the blog that published this item, the Diversity Chronicle includes a disclaimer noting that “The original content on this blog is largely satirical.”
Yes, the first paragraph of the Diversity Blog post does mention a Third Vatican Coucil:
For the last six months, Catholic cardinals, bishops and theologians have been deliberating in Vatican City, discussing the future of the church and redefining long-held Catholic doctrines and dogmas. The Third Vatican Council, is undoubtedly the largest and most important since the Second Vatican Council was concluded in 1962. Pope Francis convened the new council to “finally finish the work of the Second Vatican Council.” While some traditionalists and conservative reactionaries on the far right have decried these efforts, they have delighted progressives around the world.
Easy to glance over. And so many have, including me.
Why? Because we want so much for a Sane Leader. We want someone in charge to really believes and preaches the truth: We are all human beings who are capable of making our own Individual Choices. We deserve the education which will give us the tools to make the best decisions. We share this world with ALL that live upon it. We must work together or we will destroy each other and damage this world. There is an incredible amount of genuine wonder and awe available, we need to stop fighting about who’s god is better.
Yeah, well, not this Pope.
You do not need to take my word for it. The Vatican has a state-of-the-art website . It is interesting to compare what we think we know about the Church and the Vatican with what is actually published on this site. It is immense.
You can read the Pope’s speeches here.
The Pope is on Twitter!
Did you notice the DISCLAIMER  at the top of Diversity Chronicle? Yeah, neither did I.

11 differences between dating a boy & a man

black-man-sleeping-on-couch
A man takes the time to reflect on the type of man he wants to be, the example he wants to leave and the vision for his life. He has put thought into his values
1. A man knows what he wants, and goes for it. A boy may have somewhat of an idea, but not really. He doesn’t think too much about it, and even if he does, doesn’t exert much effort to get it. A boy is passive, a man is assertive.
2. A man plans for his future and is working towards building a foundation and infrastructure in order to have a family (at some point in his life).  A boy lives only in the moment and his plans are mostly around which bar he’s going to hit up on the weekend.
3. A man looks for a woman with intelligence, who is supportive, grounded and encompasses a shared set of values when choosing a partner. A boy cares mostly only for girls who are hot, wild and exciting.
4. A man knows a good woman when he meets one and will take initiative to get to know her. A boy may make an attempt if you’re lucky, but gives up before ever really trying.
5. A man has the courage to have uncomfortable conversations. He is honest with his intentions and lets people know where they stand. A boy avoids. He ignores confrontation or any serious talks about feelings. Instead of dealing with a situation, he runs away from it or creates drama or excuses to mask the fact he’s not that into you or a relationship.
6. A man knows when to invest in a woman and jump in with two feet. A boy is always “testing” – he doesn’t fully commit because he never knows if he is quite ready. But the truth is, because he is a boy, regardless of who he meets, he will never be ready due to the stage of life he is in.
7. A man knows how to have a good time and be social, but is often busy making strides in his career and building his life. A boy is getting crunk with his buddies at the bar every weekend.
8. A man takes the time to reflect on the type of man he wants to be, the example he wants to leave and the vision for his life. He has put thought into his values. A boy has not established his moral compass or values and consequently, is often inconsistent.
9. A man has integrity. He means what he says, and says what he means. He has follow through and actions his promises. And if he can’t he has the guts to tell you why. A boy makes promises but doesn’t follow through.
10. A man is afraid of rejection but will put himself out there anyway. A boy is afraid of rejection and acts passive so that his pride and ego won’t ever get too banged up.

16 bad habits that can hurt your relationship

black-couple-in-bed
When your partner tries to communicate with you, try to answer back in open ended questions. It’ll help both of you interact better and understand each other better. You need to remember that conversations with monosyllables usually end up dead in a minute or two, and over a period of time, your monosyllabic answers would just push both of you apart.
#1 Taken for granted. You know your partner’s sweet and caring. And you love them for it. But do you remember to appreciate your partner and thank them for all the little things they do, be it finding your keys or opening the doors for you?
You may think it’s silly to constantly thank your partner for every little thing they do. But chances are, you may start taking these sweet gestures for granted even before you realize it, and they’d turn into expectations instead!

#2 Lover pleaser. You try really hard to please your partner, but you get really upset when your partner doesn’t realize you’ve done something for them. And yet, you continue to do nice things for them all the time *which they take for granted* and eventually turn into a relationship martyr.
If your partner takes you for granted, talk to them about it. Bottling your rage or sadness will not help you. Perhaps, your partner didn’t even realize that you’ve done something sweet for them. Communicate and express yourself now and then, and stop trying to be a helpless people pleaser.

#3 Testing your partner. You intentionally make big demands or throw tantrums just to see if your partner cares enough to go the extra mile for you. These petty tests are rather common at the start of a new relationship when you’d want your lover to prove their love for you, but don’t carry this habit into the later stages of love or your constant games and tests would annoy your lover.

#4 Blame games. Don’t put the fault entirely on your partner if you believe you have a small role to play too. It’s easy to point a finger and accuse your partner for the mess that both of you are in. But by doing that, your partner would feel cornered and helpless, and even angry and hurt.
On the other hand, by sharing the blame or acknowledging your role in the mistake, you’d be giving your partner the emotional support they so badly need at that moment.

#5 Silent treatment. Do you choose to ignore your partner instead of talking about something that’s hurt you? You’re not alone. Many men and women would rather sit down in the corner and stare at the ceiling than answer their partner when they’re annoyed for some reason. Never do that because you’d only end up hurting your partner, make them feel miserable, and hate you at the same time.

#6 Unbalanced expectations. Do you have high expectations from your partner, and expect them to have lower expectations from you *because you’re too busy providing for the family or busy doing something else?*
The roles between a husband and a wife or a boyfriend and a girlfriend could be different, but that gives no right for one partner to demand more from the other partner, and give less in return.

#7 Monosyllables. Don’t answer in monosyllables in the middle of a conversation. Period. Answering with a ‘yes’, ‘no’ or an ‘hmmm’ is just a rude thing to do, even if you’re pretending to be concentrating on something else.
When your partner tries to communicate with you, try to answer back in open ended questions. It’ll help both of you interact better and understand each other better. You need to remember that conversations with monosyllables usually end up dead in a minute or two, and over a period of time, your monosyllabic answers would just push both of you apart.

#8 Don’t be a brat. Do you constantly like having things your way? It could be as silly as watching a genre of movies you enjoy or dining out at places that you like. Your partner may find your tantrums cute to begin with, but if you always want things your own way, there will come a time very soon when your partner would snap and just hate everything you like because they’re so sick of it!

#9 Making a scene in public. Don’t yell at your partner or humiliate them in public or when someone else is around. Your frustrations may be valid and you may have every good reason to accuse your partner of something, or walk away from them. But ridiculing your partner or hurting them in public will do a lot of damage to their ego, and that’s something that won’t heal very soon.
#10 You lie. For the silliest of reasons! And you just can’t help yourself. You may be lying to your partner because you’re afraid of their temper, or because you don’t want to appear weak in front of them. The reasons could be several, but the end result is almost always the same. Lies affect relationships negatively, and will lead to loss of trust. Stop lying and learn to confront the truth, you’ll have a much better life.

#11 “I don’t want to talk about it!” Avoiding discussions, especially if it’s stressful may seem like the easy thing to do at a particular moment. But stuffing all the difficult conversations in some dark corner will only leave you more stressed, and leave your partner frustrated and angry. As difficult as a particular decision or a relationship conversation may be, you can solve it only by talking about it with your lover. Remember, every journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.

#12 You get irritated easily. Do you find yourself getting irritated with your partner now and then, and have no idea why you feel that way? In all probability, there’s a subtle reason behind why you’re annoyed with your partner. So instead of snapping at them or behaving in an irritable manner, sit down and ask yourself why you’re feeling annoyed. Or better yet, tell your partner that you feel annoyed, but can’t figure out why you’re feeling that way. Believe me, you’ll feel a lot better almost the very second you say that to your lover!

#13 Every moment is together time. Do you spend every waking moment *other than work* with each other? You could scoff at other couples who do things individually and believe you’re the better couple because both of you do everything together. But in reality, doing every single thing together can do more harm than good because it stops both of you from having your own individual lives.

#14 You don’t compliment enough. When was the last time you complimented your partner when they dressed up for you? As the years go by, it’s easy to overlook the little things that your lover does that makes them awesome and take it for granted. Compliment your partner often and let them see that you still admire them, and are awed and smitten by them.

#15 Time for friends. Do you subconsciously nag your partner or get annoyed with them when they leave you alone and go out with their own friends? This is pretty common, and there’s a good chance you feel it if your partner has more friends than you do or if you’re a loner. But remember, hanging out with friends now and then isn’t all bad. It gives both of you the kind of space you both need to grow as individuals.

#16 You don’t discuss the future. Firstly, do both of you have common goals for the future? Most couples don’t talk about the future at all, and when it comes to making a decision, you may feel like you got the short end of the stick.
Don’t avoid discussing about the future just because both of you have contrasting opinions. It’ll only push both of you further away. Communicate with each other and try reasoning the differences out. As hard as it may seem, it’s always better than avoiding confrontations in love.

President Jonathan Cuts Down On Feeding Bill By N494 Million

President-Goodluck-Jonathan-laying-the-budget-proposal-before-the-National-Assembly-480x336
Premium Times reports that President Goodluck Jonathan has made a hug decision to spend less on food and consumables at the presidential villa in 2014.
The budget has come under an intense media scrutiny, President Jonathan has given up nearly half of the presidency’s giant feeding bill of N1 billion, a proposal, two years ago, that shocked Nigerians and stirred public anger.

The feeding cost has been lowered by N494 million or 45.5 percent in the 2014 budget proposal sent to the National Assembly by the president.

The 2014 request, if approved by lawmakers, will be the lowest amount of naira spent by the State House on feeding and allied costs in two years.

The government has also lowered the feeding bill for the first and second families and their offices, raising the question how the huge 2012 bill may have been utilized, since the same purpose is now being served at a cheaper rate.

In 2013, the presidency’s feeding was put at N717.3 million. For 2014, the figure has been scaled downward to N542.8 million, the new budget shows.

Odemwingie, Balotelli, Villas-Boas – See the top 5 footballing fools of 2013

Soccer - Capital One Cup - Third Round - Aston Villa v Tottenham Hotspur - Villa Park

1. Andre Villas-Boas

Tottenham have sacked manager Andre Villas-Boas on December 16, 2013 LONDON, ENGLAND - MARCH 03
Now, of course it is a dreadful thing to be relieved of your duties whatever your profession, but in this case, there is little space for sympathy.
Andre Villas-Boas had originally been known as the man who without playing experience who led Porto to a Europa league win. Following this, he was hired by Chelsea and sacked just months later.
He went on to be manager of Tottenham Hotspur, giving him another big chance of managerial success in England.
With a last minute drop below top 4, he ended last season with only one real thing: Gareth Bale at his best.
Bale was sold to Real Madrid for around 85 million pounds. This money was put to use bringing in Nacer Chadli, Vlad Chiriches, Paulinho, Roberto Soldado, Erik Lamela, Etienne Capoue and Christian Eriksen.
You’d think with what was a dream window, he would be able to do magical things. You’d expect a push for the league title would be a very easy possibility. This was not to be.
Spurs had on and off performances and only seemed to stand out in the Europa league.
To add to how people saw AVB throughout the world, he did something foolish which showed a very childish side to his attitude. Against a Norwegian side, he had a fan thrown out of the stadium for chanting jokey chants implying he was up for being sacked.
After a 6-0 defeat to Manchester City and a 5-0 defeat at home to Liverpool, AVB was sacked with people questioning what he truly has to offer if he struggles to lead a team packed with as much quality as he had.

2. Vincent Tan

Cardiff City owner Tan Sri Dr Vincent Tan (c) reacts before the Barclays Premier League match between Cardiff City and Manchester City at Cardiff City Stadium on August 25, 2013 in Cardiff, Wales
Being a successful businessman of Vincent Tan’s status, you’d think he would be knowledgeable in every field. Every field except the football one from the looks of it.
Tan, as owner of the controlling share of Cardiff City, already had changed their colour controversially from blue to red. But now, he had even stranger plans.
Malky Mackay had been Cardiff manager since 2011 and in that time led them to a Carling Cup final and promoted them to the premier league.
Mackay had been a man the fans rely on and had a reasonable first season in the premier league with a 2-2 draw with Manchester United and a shock victor over Manchester City.
This clearly was somehow not good enough for Tan. From nowhere, reports came to light that Tan had sent Mackay an angry email giving an ultimatum of either a letter of resignation or the sack.
Following this, Cardiff played Liverpool which they fought hard for even with an eventual 3-1 loss. The fans stood out especially as people committed to their manager.
After the match it was confirmed Mackay had his faith put back into him by Tan and his job was no longer in contention.
As a final turn of events in this odd saga, the next game Cardiff played and lost against rising team Southampton led to a surprise sacking of Mackay.
In conclusion, this whole turn of uncomfortable events looked to end with Cardiff standing behind the manager they had complete faith in, but instead, Tan decided to do the foolish thing and get rid of Mackay after all of the troubles they went through to keep him.

3. Peter Odemwingie

Peter Odemwingie of West Bromwich celebrates the third goal with Simon Cox during the Barclays Premier League match between Wolverhapton Wanderers and West Bromwich Albion at Molineux on February 12, 2012 in Wolverhampton, England
When at West Bromwich Albion, Peter Odemwingie was a fans favourite for the most part. It was only up until the last day of the January transfer window where this changed.
After some talk of Queens Park Rangers wanting to sign the Nigerian, he took it upon himself to travel to Loftus Road in order to seal the deal himself without an accepted offer.
This ended with Odemwingie having to return to the Midlands and no move until the following window. He was understandably an unfavourable figure at the Hawthorns from then onwards.

4. Mario Balotelli

AC Milan's forwards Mario Balotelli catches a ball during a training session on the eve of the group H Champion's League football match AC Milan vs Ajax, on December 10, 2013 in their training center of Milanello in Carnago
In his time at Manchester City, Balotelli became notorious for being one of the most peculiar figures in sport of recent times.
After speculation of his future at the Etihad, Balotelli finally was transferred to AC Milan in the country of his origin after a training ground scuffle between him and manager Roberto Mancini.
He has since been a beloved figure playing at the San Siro but still has continued his legacy of lunacy. In September when playing Rafa Benitez’s rising Napoli side, he managed to miss his first ever penalty, score one of his best ever goals, and finish the day with a sending off.
Most recently, he has been pictured with specially designed football boots complete with negative headlines based around him.

5. Gennaro Gattuso

(FILES) - In this file picture FC Sion's Italian captain Gennaro Gattuso talks during a press conference on November 8, 2012 in Sion. Former AC Milan and Italy midfielder Gennaro Gattuso was placed under investigation for alleged match-fixing on December 17, 2012 and four more people were arrested in an early morning police sweep in Italy. Cremona prosecutor Roberto Di Martino, who has been leading the Last Bet operation for three years, confirmed that Gattuso and retired Milan and Lazio player Cristian Brocchi were allegedly part of a ring that fixed Serie A and other Italian matches at the end of the 2010-11 season
If you mentioned the name Gattuso, what would most likely come to mind is his aggressive playing style in the red and black stripes of AC Milan.
After his retirement from playing in February, he took over at FC Sion as manager. 2 days later, he won his first match but 3 months later, he was sacked.
After some speculation, Gattuso moved to recently relegated Italian side Palermo and was sacked 3 months later for 2 wins and a draw in 6 games.
Gattuso is currently in trouble for making sexist comments suggesting that women don’t belong anywhere in football.
Recent reports suggest he is to be part of an investigation of allegations of match fixing.

He hurt me real hard – OJB Jezreel disses D’banj in new interview

ojb and dbanj
Veteran music producer, OJB Jezreel is very unhappy with Dbanj and the reason is not unconnected with his refusal to donate towards his surgery in India.

While granting a post surgery interview with Inspiration FM recently, OJB not only cleared the controversy surrounding his donations, but further revealed that many of the celebrities that donated used it as competition.
Expressing his disappointment, OJB said “The most disappointing one for me is D’banj because he passed through my hands. He was trained under my tutelage. That is offensive. I don’t care if you’re with Kanye West or not. You can’t forget your root. I won’t call anybody else’s name but I will call his because it hurts. His own hurts very deep. And he never tried to reach out to me. It’s not like we parted on fighting terms.”

He continued “He told me he had to go to London and he went. And when he came back, it was Don Jazzy, and I said okay, that’s fine. And what he did worked and I’m very proud of him. He should have come out to say no, I don’t know why you people are saying all these. I didn’t give OJB N7million, maybe a part of him felt embarrassed because at the end of the day, really, are you not supposed to do something?”

On the number of genuine and bounced cheques he got during the donation, OJB said “When P-Square gave me N5million cheque, everybody started treating it as a competition. They were like, they brought N5m. I want to show that I can do more, or equal it. So they will come to my house, some will drop N2m, N1m. You say thank you, they take pictures and go away. Then you drop the cheque in your account and you see that almost N4/5million is being returned back to you that it didn’t clear. You call them and tell them and they tell you they are coming but they haven’t picked the cheques till now.

“The shocking ones are not even the bounced cheques. It’s the ones that when they are coming to meet you in the house to give you money, they come with a whole camera crew. Then, they will say I’m donating one million naira to you and the cameras start recording and maybe the guy’s tape stops, and he says let’s take that again.” He revealed.

I love looking at Genevieve Nnaji, she inspires me – Melvin Oduah

Melvin-Oduah-Genevieve-Nnaji-December-2013
Melvin Oduah, one of the finalists of the last edition of the Big Brother Africa (The Chase) has disclosed his likeness for Genevieve Nnaji whom he said was his favorite actress.
In a recent interview with the PUNCH, Big Brother Africa. The chase housemate revealed further that the Movie star, Geneveive Nnaji as his muse.

When asked about his celebrity crush, Melvin said “My crush in Nollywood is Genevieve Nnaji. She inspires me a lot. I always want to look at her facial expression anytime I am watching her movies and the way she acts inspires me a lot. Outside, I have Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian, Nicki Minaj and many others.”
On first impressions about him that are wrong, he said “Some people think I am a snob.”
On his 91-day stay at the BBA house, he said “It was not easy at all being there for 91 days. But it was a wonderful experience. It had positive impact on all of us. We learned to live with people of different temperament from different countries and backgrounds. We got to tolerate and endure each other because of the rule that says, one must never allow oneself to be provoked. It was a very wonderful experience and I don’t regret going for it.”
He however admitted kissing in the BBA house.  He said “I did kiss in the house. We played some games in the house where we had to chase women. However, I did not fall in love. People that fell in love were not many. You are making it sound as if I was the only one who did not fall in love. We had just about five couples in the entire season and it does not mean that because they were couples, everybody must be couples. It is different strokes for different people and I am just one of those people that did not just fall in love in the house.”

SEE the 5 RICHEST entertainers in Nigeria + how they rake in their millions (See list)

Tuface-Happy-Birthday
The Nigerian music industry has become one of the most lucrative ventures in the country, a far cry from how it was in the past.

Musicians in the country now rake in the big bucks and make millions from performances and endorsements.
Ventures Africa, after presenting the list of Nigerian billionaires, has now compiled a list of the “5 Richest Contemporary Entertainers In Nigeria”

Here they are below:
Tom Jackson looks at the five richest entertainers in Nigeria, in no respective order.
2face
Born Innocent Idibia, the former member of the band, Plantashun Boyz, is among the richest artists in the industry. With two platinum records already behind him, Tuface (2Face) is speculated to be worth about 550 million naira ($3.47 million). He has had endorsement deals from companies such as Guinness, which earned him 20 million naira ($125,000) and Airtel, which earned him 22 million naira ($139,000).
He was also rumoured to have collected 30 million naira ($189,000) from the producers of the Phat Girls movie. Tuface has invested heavily in real estate and stocks, and made bug money from it. He once said his goal was to recover all the wealth taken from Africa.
D’banj
Apart from his music interests, D’banj has moved into other sectors. His interests include Koko Mansion, a TV reality show, Koko Lounge, an upscale hangout in Lagos and the UK, Koko Foundation, a charity, and Koko Mobile. There are also rumours that he is set to launch Koko Records. The bulk of his money comes from endorsements – his endorsement deal with Globacom telecommunications cost 70 million naira ($442,000).
He has a multi-million naira endorsement with energy drink Power Fist, a deal with the makers of the Virgin Colour soft drink and another huge deal with a popular jeweller. Another endorsement which runs into millions is with Chris Aire, with D’banj acting as the face of his watches.
He collects between 5 million naira ($31,500) and 7 million naira ($44,200) as performance fee for local gigs, and even bigger fees across the rest of Africa and in the US and the UK. Like his old boss, Don Jazzy, D’banj also bagged a recording deal with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music. D’banj once said, “I work hard so that money, awards, endorsements, bookings and kokolets chase me.”
Don Jazzy
Real name Michael Enebeli, Don Jazzy, is the founder of now defunct Mo’Hits and now runs Mavin Records. He is one of the most sought after producers in Nigeria. As a child he was a member of Good Morning Kids, a group created by his father.
He is known for his business dexterity, building Mo’Hits from scratch to become one of the biggest entertainment empires in the country. He recently signed a recording deal with Kanye West – a move that not only boosted his reputation as an entertainer, but also his wealth.
Psquare
Singing and dancing duo Peter and Paul Okoye won the KORA award for Best Africa Artiste in 2010, collecting a $1 million prize in the process. Shortly after, the duo got an endorsement deal with Globacom telecommunications worth about 240 million naira ($1.5 million) for four years. Their seven-city American tour in 2010 earned them a whopping $1m and have also built a house valued at 300 million naira ($1.9 million).
They own Rayfield Hotel, Jos, and two multi-million naira factories in the same city, where they built a multimillion naira bakery and sachet water companies for their parents. The bulk of their wealth comes from concerts, especially in Africa, where they charge about 2 million naira ($12,600) per show. They have sold over 14 million copies of their CDs since 2005.
Banky W
Banky W has become one of the richest entertainers in the industry, making the bulk of his wealth from gigs, where he charges between 2.5 million naira ($15,800) and 3 million naira ($19,000) per show and performs three to four times each week.
A brand ambassador of Estisalat, one of Nigeria’s telecommunications giants, he also featured in Coca Cola-Nigeria’s World Cup theme song and Microsoft’s Anti-cyber Crime Initiative. An entrepreneur, Banky W has invested heavily in various businesses and also doubles as a philanthropist, founding the Mr. Capable Foundation, where he provides tuition fees for indigent and brilliant students. He is also the force behind EME music which has, arguably, the Nigeria’s fastest rising artiste (Wizkid) under the label.

‘I love Nollywood, Ini Edo, Rita Dominic,’ says Liberian Minister of Justice

The Interview: ‘I love Nollywood, Ini Edo, Rita Dominic,’ says Liberian Minister of Justice
Chris Tah was in Lagos, Nigeria last week for the Obiora Memorial Lecture, organised by her friend, Professor Leslye Obiora, in honour of her father, Barrister S.B.C. Obiora and also for her 50th birthday. Leslye Obiora was Nigeria's Minister of Mines and Steel and Chris Tah is currently Liberia's Minister of Justice. Tah spoke with The Trent Voice, Onyeka Nwelue on her love for Nollywood and its stars.

“Are you the one who is supposed to organise an awards event in Liberia?” Minister Tah asks me the moment my aunt introduces me to her, during dinner at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, at the end of the lecture. I nod my head. She looks at me, like a mother would at her child and then smiles. Her smile is charming. I go down, kneel down on my knees so I could hear her very well, while she speaks to me. My aunt is sitting just beside her and we start to talk.

She was appointed Minister of Justice and Attorney General on 13 July, 2009 by Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. She is a member of the Supreme Court Bar of the Republic of Liberia since 1987 and of the American Bar Association since 1994. She practiced law as legal counsel with Maxwell and Maxwell Law Offices in Monrovia in the realm of corporate law, labour law,  banking and general international business transactions.

She’s been friends with Professor Leslye Obiora since their university days. Professor Obiora is currently a Professor of Law at the University of Arizona, Tucson, USA.

Minister Tah served as a professor in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Criminal Justice at Montgomery College, Maryland, USA. Previous to that post, she taught at Morgan State University for several years, and was adjunct  Professor of Corporative Justice System at the American University in the early nineties. She is licensed to practiced law in the State of Maryland.  While in the US she worked with various Liberian community organizations and the United States government on acquiring and maintaining legal immigration status for Liberians nationals in the US.

She obtained a BA degree in Sociology from Carson-Newman College, an MA degree in Sociology (with specialization in Corrections) from Kent State University, a LLB degree from the University of Liberia and LLM degree from Yale Law School where she specialized in International Business Transactions. In 2000, Cllr. received an outstanding Teacher Award from the University of Maryland.  Mrs. Tah first joined the Liberian government in the mid seventies and served in various capacities at the Ministries of health, Justice and Finance.  At the Ministry of Justice, she served as Asst. Minister for Corrections (first Liberian to specialize in correction).

Now, she’s in Lagos and she is breathing Lagos into her life. She is buying CDs of albums of Nigerian artistes.

On the next day, when we meet at Eko Hotel for a meeting, she starts talking about Nollywood films: “I watch Nollywood films from night till morning. People say people who watch Nollywood films are jobless.” She pauses and begins, “They say, ‘Minister, you should not watch these films.’”

Minister Tah appears like an addict of Nollywood films, because her renunciations of names of Nollywood actors are clear. She adores Mercy Johnson a lot. “I like Ini Edo, Rita Dominic, Nkem Owoh and Patience Ozorkwor.” She also says that she is aware that Desmond Elliot comes to Liberia. “I like the fact that Nigeria has been able to promote their cultures with Nollywood. Some of them, however, are negative things about Nigeria.” At the moment, Minister Tah is trying or visualising rebranding the Liberian police force. She hopes things will get in the way and she could be able to provide them with new vehicles and helmets and also uniform. She is very passionate about the development about the judiciary system of Liberia and she is hurt that Liberia has neglected a lot of things they cherished: “Liberians lost it all. We used to be at the top when it came to arts in Africa. Our writers, musicians and filmmakers. The war!” She also believes the colonial connection with the United States of America regenerated all the pomposity of the Liberian to negating his cultures to the background, thereby, winding up a different cultural preposition to the aesthetics of the whole thing.

“There should be a very vibrant film industry in Liberia that will enact the resilience and tenacity of the Liberian people,” she says.

The evening ends with hugs and kisses and I know that Minister Tah is meant to stay in Liberia, because the challenges she faces every day as a public servant have never demoralised her.

Wedding Looks 101: Grooms Learn How To Dress Right On Your Wedding Day

Wedding Looks 101: Grooms Learn How To Dress Right On Your Wedding Day
Wedding-The Trent
This Groom is obviously not a beginner on sartorial matters. He wears a silver -grey 2piece suit  with cream waistcoat pairedg the right Shirt and matching Tie. Do you guys notice that he left his jacket unbuttoned while seated? But the icing on the cake is his choice of shoe, A two-toned brown double Monkstrap shoe. The style council certifies you FIT.
Weddings-The-trent 2
As I stared at this Groom with intention of finding a flaw, the more I noticed the beauty in his simplicity.Who ever thought that a black bowtie paired with a pocket square of same tone with the suit will  make a simple white shirt look so elegant?
Weddings-The-trent 3
Guys can you also see that he UNBUTTONED his suit while seated but only buttoned it when standing? Please take note.  The Style council also certifies this groom look FIT.
Weddings-The-trent 4
Wow! This brother is surely blessed amongst women here. Anyway I love the purple theme which he used his accessories to embelish properly but my concern here is the suit. Guys when you are wearing a 3piece combo like this here make sure you leave the buttons open to show the waistcoat…The style council recommends this look for a check-up.
Weddings-The-trent 6
Ooookk! I need someone to show me who the groom is in this picture. I have advised grooms on several occasions to always look for something (preferably an accessory) that stands you out from your bestman / groomsmen, you don’t want a guest handing over your cheque gift to another person on that day do you?
Weddings-The-trent 7
Dear groom, your wedding day is not a day that you should be looking over-decorated this way…leave that to the bride.  The bowtie fits wrongly on the shirt and then you have this corsage struggling with the pocket square, it won’t have hurt to just do away with the puffed pocket square and opt for a more presidential fold. The Style Council recommends that any groom who plans to dress this way must visit the Style-Clinic come for a check-up before their special day
