Barca president Sandro Rosell reveals why Neymar snubbed Chelsea and Man City. |
Barcelona
president Sandro Rosell has spoken out about the club's signing of
Brazilian forward Neymar, including the reasons why he snubbed Chelsea,
Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
He
told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser: "The key was that the player
wanted to come to Barcelona. "It was not about knowing how to negotiate;
he wanted to be here next to Messi and the rest of the team.
"Everything was based on that despite offers he had from Man City,
Chelsea, Bayern and Real Madrid".
Rosell
revealed that Neymar's desire to play for Barca, and in particular with
Lionel Messi, was decisive in the player making the move to Catalonia.
Rosell
also revealed that Barca had to reach agreement with four parties who
held the rights to Neymar, and eventually finalised a deal worth €57.5m
(£48.75m).
